WISE is a narrative for diverse urban initiatives to coordinate action for urban change. It shifts the story of urban spaces from one focused only on infrastructure development to one that is more holistic, interconnected and planet-centred. It does so by bringing together academicians, philanthropists, citizens, and CSOs through shared convenings, learning, and collaboration.

Our theory of change

How a city starts to act as one ecosystem.

Two crore people share this city. Fast city, slow connections. More infrastructure, fewer shared civic spaces. Hyperconnected digitally, disconnected locally. 85% of urban Indians are unaware of, or uninvolved in, local civic and neighbourhood participation spaces. WISE works on that gap in four moves that build on each other.

Listen to the city

Change starts with hearing how citizens actually experience their neighbourhoods, not how reports describe them. The WISE Quotient gathers thousands of voices every year and turns them into a shared picture the whole ecosystem can act on.

Act on local problems with young people

The picture becomes projects, led by young people, rooted in specific localities. Know Your City (with Socratus) builds learning spaces and Experience Centres that make sustainability tangible; WISE Locality turns understanding into solution-based local action.
