WISE connects citizens, young people, civil society, academia, philanthropy, and public authorities into a single field of action for Mumbai — and now for other Indian cities. An initiative of the Blue Ribbon Movement.

The crises of a city — heat, waste, housing, belonging, voice — are tangled together, but the people responding to them mostly work apart. WISE works in four moves that build on each other.
Change starts with hearing how citizens actually experience their neighbourhoods — not how reports describe them. The WISE Quotient gathers thousands of voices every year and turns them into a shared picture the whole ecosystem can act on.
The picture becomes projects — led by young people, rooted in specific localities. Small enough to finish, real enough to matter.
Mumbai is full of people working on the city — mostly in isolation. We bring them into the same room, again and again, until the connections themselves become infrastructure.
When listening, local action, and relationships compound, the city can answer its challenges as one ecosystem — and the idea travels to other cities.
Well-being. Inclusion. Sustainability. Entrepreneurship & Expression. Four questions we carry into every locality, every project, every survey. Together they ask: can a citizen live a good life here?
Clean air, liveable heat, places to walk and rest, mental-health support within reach.
Can a body breathe here?
Women, children, elders, and every community feeling safe, served, and like they belong.
Whose name does this place know?
Green cover, climate resilience, waste, water, and energy held as shared infrastructure.
Will this hold for our children?
Young people and women able to start enterprises; spaces to learn and create; citizen voices with real channels to be heard.
What can be built here?
Everything we're building this year moves in one of three directions.
More localities, more Experience Centres, a stronger Council — going further into the neighbourhoods we already know.
The idea is already travelling. Eight cities meet monthly; the Quotient goes multi-city this year.
Turning practice into things others can pick up and use — teaching, telling, and codifying the work.
The WISE Quotient turns citizen voice into evidence the whole ecosystem can use. Four reports, cut for different readers.
Reflections, thought pieces, and coverage of the work — alongside the data reports above.
